Thank Goodness for Friends
I am a lucky man.
If I haven’t made that clear before, that’s a failure on my part. I have a wonderful, loving wife, and the best son anyone could ask for. The sun rises and sets with them.
I’m also incredibly lucky to have the friends I do.
A little background may be necessary. Last night, while feeling a little low about my job-search difficulties, I decided to go back to one of my favorite pastimes: writing haikus. Back a few years ago, a friend said, since they were written by me, they should be called “Briku.” I liked that.
Anyway, I posted the following on Twitter, to be posted simultaneously on Facebook:
“Job search continues./
Trying to get my foot in./
I will work for food./ #briku #haiku #Unemployment”
Since that posted, I’ve been the recipient of an outpouring of support and offers of help from friends far and near.
It’s all incredibly appreciated.
By the way, if you’d like to follow me on Twitter, my account is @brianhegarty.
